About Me
Behind the Pads and Punches
A look at who’s tests the gear, breaks it down, and helps you train smarter.
Hey there, I’m Kris Stewart!
Grew up in Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, and living in Comox, British Columbia nowadays. I love good workouts and the gear that makes them better!
I’ve worked in retail and fitness for years. Managed stores like Kent Building Supplies, ran retail ops at Rumble Boxing in Calgary, and now I’m the general manager at Central Builders Courtenay.
My interest in boxing gear isn’t new, and I love stuff that makes training more fun. I tried a music boxing machine a while back and thought that it’s not a punching a bag anymore. It had rhythm, feedback, lights, and actual challenge built into the music. It turned solo workouts into something I looked forward to.
If you’ve seen them on TikTok or Instagram, you already get the idea. You punch along to music while the lights flash in time. Sounds simple, but some of these machines are great, and others… not so much.
Why This Site Exists
I started this site because I wanted a place to share my opinions. I test each model in my home garage and local studios, and check sound quality, light sync, pad responsiveness and app features. You’ll get hands‑on notes about the playlist options, the speed settings, how easy it is to swap tracks, and if the lights stay in time when you’re going full throttle.
We’ll Talk Gear and Training
I also share boxing tips: how to keep your hands up, shift your weight, breathe through a riff of eight counts. When I review a machine, I’ll throw in advice on stance, footwork drills or punch combos that make the most of your session. You can learn to land better shots and burn more calories in less time.
Every review follows the same simple checklist: sound, lights, sensor accuracy, build quality, ease of setup and price. Then I spend at least three workouts on each machine. Short HIIT rounds, steady‑pace drills and full‑blown track‑driven sparring to see how it holds up.
I talk to gym owners and trainers, log my punch data and even swap tips with other testers in Vancouver and Toronto. I’ll be direct about what works and what doesn’t, so you can pick the right machine without wading through hype.
